Principal's Catch Up
Shirley Bailey
Welcome to Week 9 - the last Week of Term 1.
Wow, it's hard to believe we are at the end of Term 1 already. There is definitley a cool autumn feel in the air and we are starting to feel some chilly mornings up here at Kuratau School.
Yesterday Mrs Pyman arranged for 14 students to travel to Taupō to play in a Rugby League Festival. Our kids played well and had a fantastic time. Students played a total of 5 games on the day. A huge thank you to those parents who volunteered their time to help with transport and supervision. We appreciate your support.
On Thursday we will be holding our annual school Egg Hunt which everyone (including the adults) is excited about.
Last week we held our first Bike Day meeting for 2023. We have set the date for this years ride as Sunday 2nd July. Next term we will be asking for volunteers to help us out on the day. This is our major fundraising event for 2023 and we rely heavily on the support of our local community to make this day a success. Last year we raised $23,000 which was spent on 2 class sets of chromebooks and 2 storage trolleys. Without this event we would not be able to afford luxuries like chromebooks for our tamariki.
HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY EASTER BREAK
On behalf of everyone here at Kuratau School, we wish you a fantastic Easter Weekend and school holiday break. We look forward to seeing you all back at school on Monday 24th April, 2023.
**REMINDER** Tuesday 25th April 2023 is Anzac Day and the school will be closed.
Ngā mihi
